The event of march2 2011 at San Francisco saw the unveiling of the Apple iPad2, thinner, faster and lighter featuring camera and gyro, ios 4.3 and face time. With the same battery life it has iMovie and GaragrBand also featuring 3G on AT&T and Verizon.

The event witnessed the presence of the apple CEO Steve jobs; he said “It's in Apple's DNA that technology is not enough. Its tech married with the liberal arts and the humanities. Nowhere is that more true than in the post-PC products. Our competitors are looking at this like it's the next PC market. That is not the right approach to this. These are pos-PC devices that need to be easier to use than a PC, more intuitive.

Jobs further showed an introductory video on ipad2. He said “We think 2011 is clearly the year of iPad 2” the ipad2 will be available from March 11th in the US while it will be released for the world on 25th march. Apart from the much awaited iPad2, apple also announced A smart cover for it. The smart cover iPad accesory comes with a flap that covers the ipad2 magnetically and can form various shapes to turn into a stand and cover the device for protection. The covers will be available in 10 different colours. It also announced a HDMI adapter that allows 180 video output. It and works with all the applications. The announcement of iPad 2 and presence of Jobs for the event made it just perfect and the crowds went crazy with each announcement. Priced at $499 it’s not dramatically cheaper as anticipated.

Hard drives are fast, robust data storage devices. Unlike other obsolete technologies, SATA drives also provide other features that home users can benefit from.

There are several things that go into determining the overall speed of an SATA hard drive. One of these is the speed of the SATA bus, which is currently limited by specification to 300MB/sec. This is more than enough bandwidth for almost any existing application, and far more than the now obsolete PATA specification.



As hard drive technologies continue to advance and as computers begin to provide more and more rich media content such as high definition video and complex video games this limit is already becoming a road block.

The second variable that figures in to the overall speed and performance of an SATA hard drive is the speed of the storage drive itself and how fast it can potentially push the data down the bus to the computer's processor and memory.

Advanced flash memory based hard drives will potentially be maxing out this 300MB cap in the near future, so a new version of SATA is now in the pipeline. The new version of the SATA standard (known as SATA 6) will be able to push data at twice the speed of the old version of SATA, and reports are that it should arrive in consumer products beginning in 2009.

What Are The Benefits of SATA Over Other Technologies?




Although speed is the primary benefit of using an SATA hard drive, other aspects of the SATA standard also bode very well for improved types of solid state SATA drives. Faster, larger capacity flash thumb drives can connect via the external SATA (eSATA) port that is now being built into many new computer systems.

In addition to the flexibility of eSATA drives another positive aspect of the SATA specification is the ease of use of the SATA cable and connectors. Old style PATA and SCSI cables are flat ribbon cables that are difficult to handle, block air flow inside the computer case, and have the connectors easily damaged or the pins bent if not carefully inserted.

SATA hard drives are now the current standard for almost all consumer brand computers. They are more than adequate for most home users and the backward compatibility built into the SATA specification means that any future upgrades to the specification will continue to work with existing SATA hard drives.

Gaming, it turns out, might be among the least of the system's capabilities.

If Nintendo can make this portable device as common and trusted for 3-D entertainment as smartphones are for e-mail or Web surfing, it may single-handedly deliver the breakthrough that carries this technology to mainstream prominence.
Yes, the system will play 3-D versions of premium game franchises like "Street Fighter" and "The Legend of Zelda," says Fils-Aime. Yes, in the wake of increasing pressure from tens of thousands of readily available free and 99-cent apps, it will redouble efforts to justify $39.99 average software prices by offering "premium experiences you can't get anywhere else."
But with free AT&T WiFi hotspot availability, Netflix movie streaming and the ability to create, download and physically interact with 3-D content among its arsenal of tricks, the company may have yet to play its trump card.
The system lacks 3G/4G high-speed connectivity, and Nintendo is known for ardently policing material licensed for sale or distribution -- virtually or otherwise -- for its consoles.
But by letting users view, download and generate a variety of 3-D material, the system could prove to be the most cost-effective and practical on-demand 3-D content portal on the market.
Should Nintendo decide to enable sharing of user-generated content or enable the three-camera device for high-speed cellular connectivity and casual videoconferencing, the scope of this potential power play becomes even larger.
